• Road Trip to visit Kate and QMB Bend, OR

We're planning a road trip to visit Bend, Oregon! Co-Founder Kate Summerill has recently moved to Bend and started a new chapter of QMB. We'll go visit and sample the many amazing beers in and around Bend. Maybe even brew a beer?! The date is somewhat tentative. We discussed "late July" and Kate has confirmed that July 19-21 works. The drive from Berkeley is about 8 hours. Let's discuss details, and make plans. Please feel free to comment about: * dates that work for you * departure time * if you have a vehicle/can offer rides * return time

  • QMB Brunch!

    Location visible to members

QMB surpassed the $3000 fundraising goal to raise $4375! We're putting on a fancy brunch for our donors. We need a few people to help out for a couple with cooking and serving beer cocktails! The brunch will host only 5-10 people and will be laid back. There will be an open bar, breakfast sandwiches, quiche, homefried potatoes and other things from our garden. Volunteering to help out is free of course. But if you really just want to chill and eat: Tickets are sold on eventbrite $60 for one person, $100 for two. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/qmb-donor-brunch-tickets-61732155539

  • Dyke March in Dolores Park

    Mission Dolores Park

Each year we gather under our tent(s) and drink in merriment while surrounded by the queers. We'll have kegs of our beer and great company... and new merch! This year we are planning to have a "water bar" with fruit-infused still and sparkling waters in kegs. BRING: sunblock snacks a long-sleeve layer hat chair a drinking vessel (or buy a sweet QMB aluminum cup) some cash Setting up and breaking down are the big tasks. We'll need people. We will need a crew to drive all of our wonderful things to the park and set up around 10am. Putting it all back in the car will happen after the march itself begins. It's hot at Dolores Park. We will have water so everyone can stay hydrated. We ask that you limit your beer consumption to a responsible amount while at the tent and pitch in some $$ for the beers your drink. We'll have all-you-can-drink wristbands for $10 but only for members! Please let me know if you have a vehicle and can help us get everything there! We also need people to help out at the tent during the day. Those who help are welcome to some free beer, please just keep it reasonable. Meet at Rebecca's House 8:30am to load up vehicles. Meet at Dolores Park at 10am to unload and get a sweet tent site. Pack up at 3pm

  • Screen Print Merch for PRIDE

    Rebecca and Emma's House

At QMB we print our own merch by hand! I'm going to burn some new screens for merch this week. We'll be printing shirts to be made available at our tent before Dyke March. Screen printing is fun! A couple people will be printing, one will be hanging wet shirts, and another will be using an iron to set ink. WEAR CLOTHES THAT PAINT CAN GET ON. The ink is easy to wash out when wet, but still. To find us: Go through the gate on the side, up the stairs to your left, and knock on the back door of the house. I will a sign on the front door explaining this. Knocks on the front door are hard to hear.

  • Brew Day for QMB Brunch

    Rebecca and Emma's House

BREW DAY!! We'll make some beer to be served at our donor brunch next month. These fancy beers will be served as-is and with mixers in beer cocktails. We'll be making a baltic porter (with coffee), kölsch (with cucumber or strawberry juice), and an American Lager (with grapefruit soda). We will most likely be brewing kölsch on this particular day. There will be some beer on tap and, as always, the grill will be going. Come check out our system, learn to make beer, and hang out with cool friends! Beers will be served July 14th to fundraiser donors. Our GoFundMe is live and those who have contributed $60 for one ticket or $100 for two tickets will be treated to food fresh from our garden and an open beer bar. Feel free to donate and share the campaign if you also want to experience QMB brunch in our amazing garden!
