SEPTEMBER - Using R Forecast and Zoo to cash in on ATM withdrawals

We look forward to seeing you at our September meeting. This month  our meeting will be held close to Martin Place. 

Talk Outline: ATMs, like mobile phones, allow us to live more convenient lives. When they work, we take them for granted. However there are many complex procedures in the background that keep these systems running.When problems arise with these systems, using clever analytics to come up with solutions is of great benefit.

In this talk, Tim Garnsey will demonstrate how the R Zoo and Forecast packages can be used to help solve one of the most important challenges in running an ATM network - scheduling a fleet of trucks to keep ATMs full, and therefore keeping customers happy.

About our speakerTim  has 12 years experience in software development and has over the past year has branched into predictive analytics. In his current role at Integrated Research, he uses real-time monitoring and to solve problems and provide insights for IT and telephony companies across the Asia Pacific. He is passionate about incorporating predictive analytics into this work. His tool of choice is R.

Other details: Arrive from 5:30pm to enjoy beer and pizza prior to our talk. Talk starts at 6pm. Networking opportunities afterwards.
