What we're about

R.E.A.S.O.N. (which stands for Rationalists, Empiricists and Skeptics of Nebraska) is an organization founded in 1999 to oppose irrationality and extremism, and promote the free and disciplined pursuit of knowledge and understanding. You can learn more about us by visiting our website: http://www.reason.ws/ Notices of our events are posted on Meetup and Facebook, while deeper discussions of interest are ongoing at our very active e-mail discussion group (easy to join), that includes a useful archive and search engine. Visit the website to join in the discussion! Our organization is a proud member of the Omaha Coalition of Reason! Point your browser to http://omahacor.org/ for more information on the Coalition.

REASON Meeting

Omaha Public Library - W. Dale Clark Main Branch

The regular Saturday meetings have a varied format. There are occasional speakers or videos, followed by discussion. Some meetings are totally discussion of topics of current interest and some are activities. Facilitators of the meeting change each month. The group often adjourns across the street to Jazz for dinner, beverages, and less formal conversation. Remember that some of the parking spaces at the library are now metered, and that they are enforced on Saturdays. Although we may park in library staff spaces on Saturday, it is safest to have the parking app available for payment in case you need it.

REASON Cafe

Blue Line Coffee

Free-wheeling discussion over coffee and such. Conversation jumping allowed and encouraged. After the Blue line, we will wander across the street to the Dundee Dell for beverages and/ or dinner to continue the conversation. Always a good time.

Cafe Afterparty

Dundee Dell

This is a support group for the hungry and/or thirsty mentally active. Most of the attendees will wander over from the REASON Cafe (starts at 7:00 at the Blue Line, across the street and east a little.) Many of us will get dinner, and all of us will continue to socialize. No agenda; any and all topics are entertained.
