Get away from it all and spend the weekend surrounded by nature in all its glory.

Kukru lies as an obscure corner of Satpuda, right on the Madhya Pradesh – Maharashtra border. It overlooks the majestic Satpuda mountains and is surrounded by peace and calm. It’s a relatively unknown destination, so overcrowding is not a problem and you can enjoy its surroundings like it’s your own.

Kukru is also known as ‘an abode for beautiful birds’, home to many beautiful migratory birds thanks to its favourable climate and abundant fauna.

Legend has it that the mountain God, Satpura wanted to marry the river Goddess, Narmada. He tried to hug her seven times but she was very slippery. These seven hug attempts became the seven mountains of the Satpura range we see today. And when you stand on Kukru, you can see all seven of these mountains and it may even make you believe that the folk tale is true.

So join us and experience a calm weekend, surrounded by nature and views that will leave you clicking multiple pictures at every turn.

The plan:
Day 1:
We start from Bhopal - we will travel through a forest which defines flora and fauna at a new level of serendipity which is just across the River Narmada.

We will reach our destination at lunch time. We will be staying in a Colonial Era Property (1906). Post lunch we will trek to the coffee plantations and see the local vegetation of the eye catching hilly range, we will finish our trek and reach the property to witness the ever so beautiful sunset from the edge of a cliff. It will satiate your desires of being one with nature
A bonfire will be organized to keep us warm as the temperature are expected to be on the cooler side. Carry a fleece/water proof jacket.

Day 2:
Day 2 begins early as we travel to our next magnificent spot. It is a hilly retreat. We will be crossing the jungles of great historical importance. This is the place where the Imad Dynasty was conceived. Being a Tiger Reserve Forest, it will get your blood gushing and gumption pouring. We will visit the highest waterfall where people say, Bheem killed Keechka and threw his body here. The chute of water forms a pot like structure. The allure deepens when rains of monsoon compliment the setting of nature.
The thrill doesn’t end there, we will also visit a hill fortress to visit, where many a king have ruled. You will be able to see history seeping into your veins, transporting you to the olden times once again. Post sunset we will travel back to our first destination for the night stay.

Day 3:
Sadly, all good things come to an end. We will have breakfast and start our journey back to Bhopal post breakfast. We are expected to reach Bhopal before sundown.
