Let's get together and have fun climbing and getting fit without boring gym workouts. The idea is to get people started in climbing, learning the skills to belay others safely and eventually to lead climb/belay.
So, if we get there around 11:30-11:45 we have plenty of time for introductions and gearing up for a clean start. Kelsey and I generally grab lunch ahead of time and break for dinner around 5 to 6 PM then come back to close the place down. You don't have to fit that mould, but you're welcome to stay as long as you can.
The group has an amazing collection of knowledge about climbing with several really talented members you can learn from.
• Be on time! If you say you're going to be there...be there! On time! We look forward to seeing you and this is a partner based activity! Waiting for so-and-so come lately is no fun and costs climbing opportunities.
• Be helpful, patient, and positive! Everone has different skill levels and everyone should be encouraged to enjoy climbing.
• Be a team player! Learn how to belay others safely and get certified as soon as possible. This is key to keeping as many folks climbing as possible. Progress to lead climbing as you're able to. Why not take advantage of the entire facility? You've got this!
• Socialize and change climbing partners! It's easy to get into a rut with your favorite partner and not change it up. Move around and get to know different people and different styles. You may learn something new or better yet share something which moves someone else forward in their climbing journey!
