RailsBridge Triangle, founded in 2015, hosts free programming education events for women, people of color, members of the LGBT community, and others underrepresented in tech. We offer 3-4 workshops each year in locations across Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh.
Led by an all-volunteer team of experienced and enthusiastic Ruby and Rails developers, our workshops introduce attendees to the concepts, tools, and techniques of Ruby and Rails development. RailsBridge Triangle also provides continuing support to workshop attendees through our social media channels, email newsletter, and online hack nights.
Attendees range from adults exploring a career change who have little or no programming experience, to current CS students, to seasoned developers who are exploring a new language and framework. Most events result in at least one attendee joining the tech field within the next 1-2 years.
