How long have you owned chickens?

I raised my first flock, a mixture of differnet breeds of bantams in 2000.

How many chickens do you own?

At the moment I have 29 bantam cochins....mostly offspring from this Spring's hatching.

What breed of chickens do you own?

Bantam Cochins....different colors.

What do you like most about owning chickens?

They are great entertainment after a long day of working with children and teenagers. I usually pour myself a glass of Chardonnay, let my birds out of the run to wander the yard (under my supervision), and sit back and enjoy the show.

How many people (other than yourself) have you helped get started owning chickens?

I am a teacher by profession but an avid gardener and chicken enthusiast on the side. I have Bantam Cochins which raised their own little ones this Spring so I have extras if anyone might be interested in these beautiful birds!
