If you get them as chicks in May they won't start laying until late Oct/Nov.

Hi Fern -

Yes, these will be my pets, my garden fertilizer, my entertainment and my pest control.

These Lemon Cuckoos are sold as pullets, all 15 of them and will be available in May, if I order soon, like tomorrow.

Hi Bev

I googled them to see lots of pictures, and they are very beautiful.  However, if you are buying straight run babies, 1/2 of them will be male.  If you split the order 3 ways, that's 5 each, at $75.00  Only 2 1/2 of that 5 will be girls, which turns out to be very expensive chicks.  But if
you think of your 2 or 3 girls as pets, it's not so bad for such exquisite babies.

Hi all -

I am the newest member, I think.

My husband is building me a fabulous chicken coop for Christmas. True Christmas is over and it's only half done, but I don't want to buy chicks anyway, until it gets warmer.

Which brings me to the point of chickens, is anyone interested in the Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons? PurePoultry sells them, but at 15 for $15.00 each.

That's too many chickens for me, I only want two. What do you think, anyone want to go in with me on these chicks.

Blue orpingtons would work for me as well.

Thanks
