SHALOM Denver Employment Services

Staff Up Your Company with SHALOM Denver’s Qualified, Motivated Employees

Do you ever find yourself going through piles of applications and résumés only to find a few individuals who are actually qualified to fill your open position? Let SHALOM Denver save your organization time, energy, and money by providing you with pre-screened, high-quality, skilled workers who are motivated to succeed.

SHALOM Denver Employment Services program is an intensive job-readiness program that prepares welfare recipients for the workforce by providing high-quality, hands-on training and real-world work experience.

By working closely with individuals one-on-one over several months, SHALOM Denver truly understands how our trainees can be successful in the workplace. By hiring these individuals as interns or employees, you’re giving someone in need a chance to succeed and the ability to provide for themselves and their families. It’s good for your company and it’s good for our community.

The Participants We Serve

SHALOM Denver Employment Services program participants come from diverse backgrounds and bring varying levels of education and experience. Many participants have extensive work histories, highly developed skills, and college degrees. Others have significant barriers to employment, including disabilities, a lack of education, and even criminal backgrounds. They all share one common thing—the desire to work. They are eager to take control of their lives and provide for their families.

Training with Purpose

SHALOM Denver Employment Services program’s goal is to move participants from welfare to work. The program helps participants with skills assessments, skill development, interviewing skills, résumé strategies, volunteer and internship placements, job search plans, and job placement. SHALOM Denver helps participants secure employment using the Internet, networking, and community connections.

The training at SHALOM Denver Employment Services program goes beyond simple skills development. The program is transforming how participants think about welfare and work. The powerful training encourages participants to conduct a thorough self-evaluation to understand why they are on welfare and help them regain control of their lives. Participants work on evaluating personal priorities with a focus on building a future for themselves, rather than focusing on short-term needs.

Internships—Test-Drive Before You Buy

A unique opportunity that SHALOM Denver promotes is our internship-to-hire program. We understand the high cost of employee turnover for any business. Our internship program gives area businesses and our participants the opportunity to work together for 30 days before a decision to hire is made. During this 30-day internship, job coaching is available to expedite the learning curve, and case management is available to help our participants succeed. Best of all, internships are free to your organization.

We are always looking for companies willing to provide internship opportunities to our participants.
