Go inside New York City's most famous lighthouse, one which escaped the wrecking ball thanks in part to a 1942 children's book.
Join New York Adventure Club (https://www.nyadventureclub.com/) as we take a private trip inside Jeffrey’s Hook lighthouse; erected in 1880 and moved to its current site in 1921, this lighthouse has become widely known as the children’s literary landmark “The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge.”
Led by an Urban Park Ranger, our unique experience will include:
• An overview of the Washington Heights neighborhood as we walk down a winding trail to Fort Washington Park
• The history of the Little Red Lighthouse with an opportunity to hold the one key that opens it
• Private access inside, and on top of, the famed lighthouse, which is granted only on rare occasions

*Please bring a water bottle and comfortable pair of shoes as we’ll be doing a lot of walking!
