Raw Chic Coiffure: A Natural Hair and Lifestyle Meetup

Raw=natural; of the earth and Chic=fashionable, and on point. This is a group for 20-40 something curlies of all colors and sizes; especially women who are interested in or in the process of transitioning to natural hair, new, natural kinky-curlies or long-time naturals (locs, curls, afros, come one, come all). I started this groups because I find myself always talking about my natural hair with friends, colleagues and even strangers. I have been leaning that the upkick of the natural hair movement is about more than "just hair". It relates to healthy choices and living as close to the earth as possible through our product choices, especially as women and people of color who have been disparately exposed to toxins in our neighborhoods, hair products and lack of access to healthy food. We will explore and discuss the psycology and culture of hair, maybe read a book or two about it, discuss how our hair impacts us at work and home, but primarily trade styling and healthy hair care tips, maybe even swap products or organize local larger scale natural hair meetups, all while having fun. Fashion talk to go along with our fabulous curls and locs and styling tips are a major part of this as well! Is it JUST hair?? ! Be a Raw Chic(k).
