We will enjoy delicious raw foods while we watch the movie May I Be Frank, which follows the gripping journey of Frank Ferrante’s 42-day raw diet. After the movie we will have a Q&A and I will share my personal story of how I lost 160 pounds,(80 pounds on a raw diet), by eating healthy.

My name is Simone Simpson and this is my journey, my evolution. I spent many years as a ‘fit’ person. I put the word fit in quotes because I was not good to my body. I was fat free, sugar free, and many other things free, without ever listening to what my body wanted. Then, I became an emotional eater and gained almost 200 pounds. At 320 pounds, I was in happy misery - happy because I always smiled. I was overly polite; I made sure that everyone else was comfortable. I always knew, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that I would be thin, trim, fit, healthy one day! Unequivocally, absolutely, yes; I would be thin. I knew that I would lose all of this weight that I carried. I didn’t really know when. I think I always thought it would be with the next diet that I would begin.
On November 1st, 2012, I went raw. I changed to a 100% raw diet. And it was effortless! I ate what I wanted, when I wanted it. And no counting of calories, fat, sugar, etc.!
I was only planning to do this for 42 days…and ten months later I had lost 80 pounds and went from a size 20 to a size 8! I am now teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and giving workshops where I am sharing my journey with the world. Most importantly, I feel amazing! Thank you for reading about my journey!
