Come downtown for food, drink, talks, and socializing. We'll be talking about ReactJS and related technologies. There is a lightrail stop at the corner of where the meetup is. If you arrive after 6:05pm, please speak with the front desk and they should assist you in getting up to the 38th floor.
Talks/topics to be covered:
React Performance Debugging by Steve Kinney
React is fast, right? Well, yeah. But, any application that grows to a medium or large size begins to develop its own special edge cases that require us to do a bit of detective work in order to get the best performance possible. In this talk, we’ll take a look at some of the common performance pitfalls beleaguering production-grade React applications, how to diagnose performance problems, how to measure the effectiveness of your solutions. We’ll also look at some state management performance tweaks and put some numbers to some of the performance lore being spread around the community.
Recompose by Yoel Tadmor
Writing state containers to separate data-flow and management from pure view components has emerged as a best practice in React. Popular libraries such as redux provide us with component enhancers to manage that data-flow without having to write separate components every time. This talk will cover using recompose to quickly create enhancers of your own.
