Come downtown for food, drink, talks, and socializing! We'll be talking about ReactJS and related technologies. This month's talks:

How to Add End-to-End Encryption to Your React App - Madison Kerndt

Even the coolest user interfaces won't cover for apps that are insecure and leak private information. As front-end developers, we need to build apps that stand up to the demands of our industry and protects the data and privacy of our users.

In this talk, you will learn:
Why private data should be end-to-end encrypted
How to use middleware to encrypt data without rewriting your app
How to use metadata to centralize a data privacy policy
How to separate what data to encrypt from who should be able to decrypt it
How to add end-to-end encryption without restraining the functionality of your app

Demystifying State Machines - Jon Bellah

User interfaces on the web are more complex today than ever before. As a result, designing and managing state in applications on the web is more complex than ever before. In this talk, we'll take a look at the fundamentals of state machines and statecharts, how they help solve many of challenges inherent in state design and management, and how statecharts perfectly fit the component model of React.

Thank you to Xactly, Turing, and Granicus for sponsoring this event!
