Come downtown for food, drink, talks, and socializing. We'll be talking about ReactJS and related technologies. Talks/topics to be covered:

React Hooks, Line & Sinker by Hilary Denton

React Hooks are the ‘next big thing’ in the React Community. Available in v16.7.0-alpha and 16.x in the near future, they will most likely transform the way we write React. In this talk we’ll learn about what hooks are, what problems they solve, when and how to start using them. We’ll also take a look at some of the overabundance of courses, examples and tooling that is already available to help you continue your learning!

Functional Fullstack: Getting Real(time) with React, Redux, and Elixir by Joey Rosztoczy

We'll explore why principles of functional programming such as immutability are immensely valuable, and how to apply them in React with the Redux methodology and related tools. We'll see how implementing these principles across the stack opens a path to becoming fullstack or deep-generalist engineers. Finally, we'll do it all while building out a realtime location dashboard!
