Hi Everyone there,

Welcome to (English ) Reading Teatime Eindhoven. I'm Veronica from Taiwan. I've been living in the dutch city Helmond for almost 13 years. Before i came to the Netherlands i was ever an English and Chinese editor for several publishing companies, and later a journalist for an e-news media group in Taiwan. At those days knowing how to use and rightly switch multiple languages is already part of my life.

At present I'm working as a freelance translator mainly for the translation agencies in the Netherlands and Taiwan, meanwhile, for benefiting both living and work, I'm still doing my best to sharpen and deepen the command of both English and Dutch. Obviously, holding the edge in learning languages that can be an advantageous force in daily communication, as to a good command of reading, which is certainly one of the most important bases to help develop efficient communication between you and the people around you.

Here I'm going to organize a group that can function as an organic language learning creature by reading different English learning materials and also going the discussions over variant topics like occurring news, business knowings, economic trends, new scientific discoveries, literature works, screenplays, cultural impact, fashion trends, arts events... etc. I guess sometimes, the group members would even like to do some reasonable arguments during the gathering. And it's good!

The regular program of the reading tea time gathering is usually going like this:

-This is a gathering for reading a short English text or a story(no longer than three  A4 pages)
-The learning gathering would be going for 1 hour and 45 minutes including a quarter hour tea break.
-Every attendee will be provided a copy of the reading material.
-Before we start each learning process, the attendee signs the name in the register in advance.
-Each attendee gets a chance to take 1 minute to give self-introduction.
-Everyone will be in turn to read a small paragraph of the text.
-After we all reading through the whole text then we will get about 10 minutes to check out the new words in the text.
-We start discussing the essential meaning of each paragraph and so everyone comes up the related issues and so on we go through the whole text.
-During the tea break, i'll provide some delicious snacks or sweets. ^^*
-This Meetup repeats every 2 weeks on Wednesday.

I'm sincerely waiting for you, someone who has the similar passion in learning English, enhancing  communication skills and would love to have a little relaxing tea break with others.
