Bibliotherapy (also referred to as "book therapy") involves the reading of specific texts or books with the purpose of healing. It uses an individual's relationship to the content of books as therapy. This is NOT a licensed psychology group therapy session, but a way for others to recommend books and discuss together for the purpose of healing or positively impacting members of the group who are struggling with a specific issue (i.e., loss of a loved one, divorce, strained relationship with a child, finding a soulmate) or just someone who needs a book about courage and perseverance or wants a little more happiness in their day. Words have a special way of healing us and the right book (books can be our closest friends) can cause a life changing moment for someone to have their breakthrough moment. This group is for women to share a lot, or a little, to share a laugh or a burden; but I promise we will all walk away from our discussions a little stronger, wiser, with a few new friends and an understanding that books can lead us to the answers we seek.
