Hi, my name is Henry Lin and I am a marketing coordinator for the Global Autism Project. Every year, we host a kayak event called The Paddle for Autism Awareness. This year, the event will kick off on August 21st, at the Northwest Outdoor Center (I saw the hole in the meetup schedule, thought you guys would be interested). There wasn't a big turn out last year and I really want to make a difference this year. This year, I want to cater the events to all ages and decided to break down each event base on age or experience. With no personal experience with kayaking, we are looking for volunteers to teach, educate and show how a rainy state like Washington can still have active kayakers. Not only that, I want to help the you guys, by spreading the word about the sites and group. Just want to let you guys know a little about myself, I'm actually not getting paid for this. I am a recent college grad with no real eye catching opportunities yet. So I thought, why not contribute to a probable cause while I'm job hunting. This is no form or shape to guilt trip you guys, I would rather have you guys want to do it than feel forced. So if you guys are interested in sponsorship, donation, or volunteering. Please let me know.
And you guys would do me a huge favor if you could forward this message to those who might be interested (whether it's individual or a corporation). Thank you for your time and patience.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy the sun while you can!
This is a group that gets together 2 to 3 times a month to go kayaking from the Northwest Outdoor Center off Lake Union. This is a great way for people to get together and get out there and enjoy the sport of kayaking along with getting a good work out. Also, how fun would it be to hit the Red Door for drinks after an evening kayak or hit a great place for breakfast after a weekend morning paddle?
