By joining Red Rock Hiking Group, which activities interest you most? Please comment on faves: cross-country hiking (includng exploratory and rugged); photo hiking (moderate, group-paced, 1-4 miles max); outdoors events (including social gatherings)

I saw your web site and it looks like the group is easy going and inclusive of a lot of folks. The spirit of exploration and fun seems to pervade. It seems that many hikes explore the red rock country and we are starting to really love this area.

What is the most challenging hike you have ever done RECENTLY?

We recently did a nine mile hike that was especially strenuous. It involved a lot of rough cross country and steep climbing. The midpoint was climbing a local mesa and enjoying lunch and the view.

What is the most scenic and/or photgenic place you have ever hiked or camped? Please comment on specific locations and ease of access (long or short hike, easy car access, camping facilities, special characteristics you liked, etc.)

Zion ranks quite high on our list. We enjoyed the via ferrata in the Italian Dolomites. too. Most majestic canyons and special places with petroglyphs we enjoy a lot.

Please describe your CURRENT hiking abilities in terms of distance in miles, total elevation changes (in feet), types of terrain, and height exposure (your comfort zone).

5-7 miles, cross-country moderate to strenuous..scrambling, slickrock, mild bouldering, some challenging exposures, rough terrain

Have you read thru our "Pages?" Table of Contents If not, please do for your hiking safety and pleasure!

Hello hikers, We do moderate and somewhat challenging scrambling and x-country and we love taking photographs, testing our 60 year+ limits--sharing great moments in nature.
