What we're about
Red Tent is a global movement aiming at creating spaces where women can share their stories without judgement - a place where they are listened to without interference and where they receive comfort and support from the presence of other women. This is a place where femininity is celebrated both in its softness and strength and where the cyclical nature of women is understood and respected.
Come to the Red Tent to share your story and listen to others. You are also welcome to share poems, songs, and other texts that have moved you and offered you inspiration and solace. If you have a skill to share, we would be happy to receive it, too (Do you know to do a good feet/back massage? Do you know to draw funny caricatures?). All of this, including nibbles and drinks that you may bring along, will contribute to a relaxing and comforting atmosphere during our gathering.
In the Red Tent Women's Group Augsburg, we will meet once a month from 19.30 till 22.00 in the evening. The group is led by Barbara Malečkar, a psychologist and member of red tents in the UK and Slovenia, who is currently enrolled in a yearly training and mentoring circle for facilitators of red tents (http://www.barefoot-heartsong.com/wise-women-and-circle-sisters/4594029447?platform=hootsuite ). We will meet at her home in Ulrichsviertel in Augsburg (the exact address will be given to you upon your registration here and prior to the meeting).
The Red Tent meetings will take place either in English or in German, depending on the wishes and language capabilities of its members.
The Red Tent movement received its name by the novel of the same title from Anita Diamond, which has recently been turned into a TV-series starring Minnie Driver.
