Help the Glen Valley Watersheds Society (GVWS) bust blackberries at West Creek Wetlands. They'll be tackling the brambles every other Tuesday in order to keep the invasive plants from encroaching on the wetland.
Normally closed off to the public, this 163 acre park reserve is home to nearly 170 animals - including up to 18 endangered or threatened species. This is a good opportunity to protect a sensitive wildlife area, while working with folks who are passionate about the environment.
Work gloves, tools and refreshments will be provided. The work party will run rain or shine, so come prepared for the weather and activity. Sturdy shoes are highly recommended.
