Bi-Monthly Meeting

It's that time again -- come tell us about your latest travels, and/or where you're headed next! We'll have some updates on potential travel plans for 2014, as well.

El Rodeo has an upstairs room that we've used in the past. I'll try to get that room for us. :-) Otherwise, just ask for Laura.

Thanks to everyone for coming out last night -- it was a lot of fun, and I'm excited to have so many new members in the group! Let's go diving now!

The only local option, so I bought my cool/cold water wetsuit years back. So I'm game as well.

Most people here seem to dive at the airport.

As another first time attendee my thanks as well to those who put in the time to pull off a a meeting that was both informative and fun. I hope to find some time to actually join the group on a dive trip....

I really enjoyed my first meetup! As a new diver I feel I walked away with so many good tips and helpful information. I also feel better about finding more oppertunities to dive! I wish I had not been a little shy and moved around the room and talked to even more people, next time!

I understand about the shyness...I feel the same.

It was my first meetup and it was a great first one. I met very friendly people with a lot of knowledge and that are offering to help new divers. Thank you for the meetup opportunity.

I can't attend this meeting as it conflicts with the DAN Lecture "Evaluating Information Related to Diving". I was really looking forward to finally attending one too.

    • Frederick

Ah, bummer about the DAN lecture at the same time. Marty does a good presentation, but the topic isn't that interesting.

      September 26, 2013

    • Bill J.

A better description of the lecture was in the invite: "With such a staggering amount of information and speculation around diving, it is often challenging to differentiate between scientifically-established fact, reasonable conjecture, expert opinion, amateurish opinion and incorrect assertions. This presentation will review current topics in diving safety and evaluate the foundations for the positions held to create a framework for critical evaluation of information." I think the topic is more than simply interesting. But then I usually find these seminars to be useful in helping me understand the facts instead of just knowing them.

Nice to meet you Linda. Lets go... any day Monday through Friday.

    September 26, 2013

  • Alicia C

I'm going to try to make it... have plans immediately before this that involve crawling in mud, so...

    September 20, 2013

    • Allen

Oh we don't care about mud! You should see some of us after a day of diving 40 miles offshore. Salty dogs! Some people will talk about Bonaire trip, so you might like that.
