#Resist Roundtable -- come say hi!

Triplekirks

The #Resist mission is to bring people together to act in our neighborhoods on the values essential to democracy, from equality to human rights. Let's meetup to say hi and chat about what #Resist means for us and our neighborhood. Have an idea or already working on an issue? Bring it to the table! Experienced pro ready to teach us how to organize and resist threats to values that protect us all? Come teach us! New to this thing, have no idea what to do, but know you want to do something? Great, this is our moment, come say hey! Here's our agenda: 1. Introductions: A quick share of name, job or hobby, why you're here, and what threat you think we can work together to Resist. 2. Discussion: Identify what we want to accomplish in our area, who key decision makers are we might influence, and who our existing allies are -- who is already working on these issues locally and might offer support? 3. Planning: Let's pick a thing to start! Should we attend a local town hall to ask the tough questions about the latest US budget. What about a vigil in solidarity with the next big march or event? Is there a local election coming up we should pay closer attention to? Or maybe we start with another hangout where we write or call our local elected officials about the action we need them to take on a certain issue. 4. Let's do it: What role can each of us play? From creating a flyer, to contacting local press, to scoping out logistical needs, there's a role for everyone! I'm hosting this Meetup for our group, but #Resist is led by all of us -- so I look forward to any and everyone who wants to participate, whether that's listening in to learn, offering opportunities to move forward, or just stopping by to say hey. See you soon!
