Phone Calls for St. Pete's Future

Online event

Join the Human Rights Campaign as we make phone calls (from home) for pro-equality candidates in St. Pete! *It's okay if you can't make if for the entire event; it would be great to have you there, even if it's only for a half hour!* Between now and November, the HRC will be working diligently to ensure that pro-equality candidates are elected into offices throughout the Gulf Coast, the Sunshine State, and in the White House, and we need your help! We cannot let progressive seats go to regressive politicians this November! The HRC has endorsed Representative Jennifer Webb, who is running for re-election to the Florida State House, representing the residents of District 69. Rep. Webb has been a champion for equality since her first day in office, and we need her representing our city for another two years! Help mobilize equality voters by calling our neighbors in St. Pete to advocate for the election of progressive, pro-equality candidates (like Rep. Webb) in Florida and nationwide! Don't worry if this is your first time - you'll be trained on how to make calls when you arrive. Find this event on Mobilize America: https://www.mobilize.us/hrc/event/311806/

HRC Florida: LGBTQ History Makers conversation with Alphonso David

Join HRC’s President, Alphonso David, for a special conversation with some of Florida’s LGBTQ legislative ‘history makers’ -- openly LGBTQ candidates who are running for state legislative races this cycle. History could be made this year as Florida could double the size of the LGBTQ caucus in Tallahassee; but only if we (re)elect all 6 openly LGBTQ candidates whom HRC has proudly endorsed: - Joshua Hicks, running for House District 11 - Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith, House District 49 - Representative Jennifer Webb, House District 69 - Representative-Elect Michele Rayner, House District 70 - Representative-Elect Shevrin Jones, House District 101 - Representative Ricky Junquera, House District 118 This special kick off to LGBTQ History Month will discuss what’s at stake in November and how LGBTQ representation in the Florida state legislature is critically important to advancing equality. Following the conversation we will have an opportunity for volunteers to make calls to voters in support of these fabulous candidates. This event is free and open to all supporters of Equality, but sign-up is required (https://www.mobilize.us/hrc/event/324860/). After you register you will be sent a link to join us via Zoom.
