If you or someone important and/or close to you is struggling with any problem(s) that are impacting your quality of life in a negative way. Take advantage of this opportunity to get the answers you are looking for to regain control of your life and be present for your families and other supports. Learn valuable coping skills, manage stress levels, gain awareness, adjust your perception and thoughts to minimize distress, and develop your personal self-care plan to maintain a constant positive state of mind.

The main objective of your personal plan is to improve your quality of life. Through an integrative approach that is both evidence-based (scientific) and holistic, you will be empowered to face any difficulties that you are confronted with. In a sense, you will become your own therapist by possessing the skills to challenge and transform feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, and powerlessness into a life filled with meaning and purpose, hope, wisdom, and courage to persevere.

During the awareness phase, you will begin to discover underlying factors that accumulated over the course of your development, from birth to to the present time that influence the way you view and interact with the world around you. These are memories that are stored in your subconscious, and arise when triggered by an event that creates a particular feeling related to that memory, resulting in a perception that causes distress in your life without you being aware of this distortion, where it came from, and why. You will gain awareness through these meetups, thus, being able to spot and challenge yourself to cope in healthier ways. Even if there isn't anything you can do to change the situation that is stressing you out, you will still be able to remain in more serene state.

During this healing process you will become aware of any cognitive distortions and self-defeating thoughts that cause you distress, leaving you in a constant state of arousal which drains the energy your body needs to to fight-off diseases and function efficiently in your daily life. Unfortunately, so many people habituate to living in a stressed state, that they don't feel the damage it is causing their mind and body until it is too late. Constant stress is a major factor in the onset of various cancers and other debilitating and fatal diseases.

As your awareness grows you will be motivated to take the needed steps to heal. This will rewire your brain by creating new neural pathways that will influence your perceptions and interactions with the world around you in a more positive way, allowing your mind and body to rest and regenerate more frequently. You will notice the difference in your reactions when faced with difficult circumstances that would normally break you down. Not only will this be crucial for dealing with adverse circumstances, it will also prove beneficial when you are striving to meet your goals. Your success rate will significantly improve.

This meetup will allow you to connect with others who are experiencing similar problems, affording you the opportunity to practice your new skill set on each other to find what works best for you.

Some examples of issues that would benefit from these groups would be: Legal, relationship, family, addiction, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, career, education, parenting, anger, self-harm, bereavement, poverty, trauma, bipolar, and/or having to live with and effectively be able to help a loved one who is struggling with one or more of the above, without causing harm to yourself or them.

As the group facilitator, I am a qualified and certified mental health and addiction professional with over 20-years experience from a combination of personal hardships that I have overcome in my life, extensive and meticulous education in clinical psychology, research, and practice in different capacities within this field.

70,000 PEOPLE DIE from overdose fatalities each year. Most of them are adolescents and young adults. All efforts to date in the U.S. have had minimal to no effect to curb the overdose crisis. Europe, Australia, & Canada have found a solution that has been in effect for around a decade, and that has saved the lives of 99.999% of people who overdosed, and lived to be able to recover. But because of politics and stigma these strategies are banned in the United States for nonsensical reasons. We have found a way to bypass these barriers and save millions of lives. Realistically, no one has to die from an overdose.

Since 2001 scientists at UPenn have spent countless hours researching the concept of "Authentic Happiness." What they have discovered are three lives that people lead. The "Good Life," "Pleasant Life," and "Meaningful Life." The meaningful life was found to be all encompassing. This meetup will consist of learning about the three lives and what they mean. Discovering your strengths through various tests. Then, we will begin the journey of self-discovery, utilizing your strengths and mapping out your journey, that will lead to a meaningful life. This consists of defining your values and setting goals to meet these values. There are 10 core values that are consistent across all humanity. Working on all 10 at the same time is pretty impossible for several reasons. You will create a workable strategy that is unique to you. The end result will be that the pleasure that life has to offer you when utilizing your strengths to live within your values will create true meaning that will allow you to reach "Authentic Happiness." Each meetup will allow you to share about your progress and any difficulties along the way. Working together with other members to achieve what you are striving for. At the end of each meetup, you will leave empowered, motivated, and with a direction to move forward.

This group is designed to assist you with recognizing and challenging cognitive distortions that create stress in your life. Learn about stress, why we feel stress, when we should feel stress, and how to cope with stress. You will be introduced to many different styles of meditation to discover what works best for you. Too much to cover in just one group, so each time, we will address different causes of stress and practice one style of meditation.
