Do you have repair skills? If so, what kind? If not, what would you like to learn?

I'm pretty confident with electrics and repairing things with spare parts. Not afraid to take things apart generally. Master at YouTube searches to see how others have done things (like fixing dishwashers and washing machines). I have a hot tub and I would really like to learn how to repair a 2HP pump that is starting to get very noisy (bearings need replacing I'm guessing).

What inspires you to repair or seek out help repairing?

I have a portable stereo with a suspected power surge that I can't reset and I would like it to work again - that is what I hope to bring to the party.

I like stuff to work. My husband and I do a lot of DIY and do our best to do all general house repairs ourselves. Well, okay - I mostly watch. And make tea on request.
