No one wants to be the Event Host sitting at a table set for twenty and only three people show up (yes, that actually did happen in November of 2009, triggering this Discussion). Thanks to our Three-Strikes-and-You're-Out policy (inspired by Assistant Organizer Rob & implemented by Assistant Organizer Laura), The Restaurant Circle now has a lower No Show rate than other meetup groups that don't have this policy, even when compared to ourselves a few years ago.
- No Shows. If you commit to a meetup (RSVP "Yes" or get bumped up from the Waiting List) but do not attend or fail to update your RSVP in a timely manner (no later than the day before the meetup unless otherwise specified), you will be counted as a No Show. Three No Shows and you will be banned from The Restaurant Circle.
- Premiere Event. At the discretion of the Event Host, a meetup may be escalated to Premiere Event status. If you cancel the day of the meetup or are a No Show for one Premiere Event, you will be banned from The Restaurant Circle.
- Waiting List. If someone on the RSVP List cancels within 24 hours of the meetup start time and you get bumped up from the Waiting List to the RSVP List (even if it's five minutes before the meetup start time!) it is expected that you will attend. With this in mind, if you are on the Waiting List and can no longer make it, take yourself off.
You may notice the title WLX
after your name. This means that you discourteously held up the entire Waiting List, blocking everyone that signed up after you from being able to attend. At the discretion of the Event Host or Organizer, you may be removed from all future meetups that have a Waiting List.
If you notice a ★
following your name, this means you have a flawless attendance record (zero No Shows)! Congratulations!
Thank you for your thoughtfulness and consideration!
