What we're about
This group is about bringing together people local to the Chilterns who are interested in learning more about how to achieve high quality rest through yoga. The Restorative Yoga classes are suitable for every body, and geared towards those looking for a gentler and more therapeutic offering. Due to the deeply restful nature of Restorative Yoga, it is the perfect antidote to stressful jobs, active lifestyles, acute injuries or chronic ill health.
Restorative Yoga is a about slowing down, opening the body and releasing accumulated tension from weary muscles in order to relax deeply. Equipment, such as bolsters, blankets, and yoga bricks, is used to support the body in positions of ease and comfort. These postures are held for several minutes to facilitate relaxation, calm the nervous system, aid sound sleep and move towards optimal health.
The studio is private, classes are kept to 6 people to ensure appropriate equipment and levels of personal attention are provided for each and every person. There is free, on-site parking for every client, and underfloor heating is in the studio to add to the level of comfort from start to finish. The classes are taught by a highly trained and experienced Restorative Yoga teacher, and the only 'Relax & Renew' Restorative Yoga Teacher in the Chilterns. This 'Relax & Renew' course is the offering from the creator of Restorative Yoga, Judith Hanson Lasater.
£10 a class if the term is paid in full (£60 at start of this term for the 6 weeks of classes) or £12 drop-in price, if space is available that week. Once the existing classes fill, new classes can be put on.
