RPCV NYC Networking Event

Would you like to meet RPCVs working or studying in your current field/industry? Want to connect with RPCVs and across generations and across disciplines? Interested in finding other RPCVs who served in the same country or region as you? Here’s your chance!

Whether you served in 1961 or just returned last month, you’re invited to this RPCV Networking event hosted by the Northeast Regional Peace Corps Office where you’ll have a chance to do all of the above. This will be an casual opportunity to get to know who’s doing what here in the city, meet others with common interests, and find out about some of the RPCV activities in the area.

A networking event without YOU is going to be missing an important presence so mark your calendar and RSVP if you are able to attend.

Structure and discussion questions were helpful, providing a more comfortable space to initiate conversations with new people. Next time, schedule the space for longer than event is planned

Obviously someone put out good effort at publicity. There must have been 150 RPCV's there, most of whom I did not know. The PC office added much effort at facilitating a productive mingling. I am betting they provided the base pizza and beverages, too. Add to that what people brought, and how interesting the conversations were (they always are), and main problem was that it was over too soon, about 8 pm. Happily, there was even a nearby follow-up venue announced. I hope someone reviews the follow-up.

    Hi all,
In order to streamline the set up and check in process, I've created a google form for early check in. I do have to send this via email (unfortunately I can't share a link). If you haven't already done so, please send me a message at [masked] and I'll send you the early sign-in sheet that way you'll just have to show up and start connecting with people. Thanks!

Thanks to those of you who have RSVP'd for the RPCV NYC Networking event this coming Friday. So far, we have close to 100 RSVPs representing every decade of service, just about every region, and diverse spectrum of career paths/interests. It’s going to be a great event! Here are a couple notes: Drinks: Wine/Beer are allowed at this venue.
Snacks: You can pick something up at a store/restaurant or you can make something unique that you’d
like to share; ether is welcome.
Hors d’oeurves style is preferred. Labels will be available so that you can name the dish and list any ingredients that others may need to be aware of (eg. VERY spicy, contains pork, nuts, etc.)
    Utensils will be provided

There is still space so you’re welcome to pass this message on to other RPCVs you know in the area. The more the merrier! See you on Friday,

    Anthony Trujillo
