Let's Take a Field Trip to the Farm!

Let's Tour Vertically Integrated Farms Together!

All are welcome to learn more about urban farming, growing your own food, and sustainability.

Vertical Integrated Farms will introduce us to Permaponics, Aquaponics (fish and vegetables in water), Aquaculture (fish farming),Hydroponics (growing plants in water), Permaculture (Permanent Agriculture), Food Forestry, Foraging, & more.

Our tour will include a presentation by Anya Pozdeeva about using invasive plants as a source of sustainable food and natural medicine. Invasive plants are non-native species which were brought to their new habitats from various other countries and which grew out of control, out-competing native dwellers. Invasive species damage the lands and waters which native plants and animals need to survive.

Live Fish, Plants, Mushrooms Gardens, Wild Foraged Herbs & much more also for sale.

This was my first meetup. I was expecting something different, however, the information I received from this was much more than expected. Both Chris and I were glad we came, Anya was a wealth of information!! The vegan chocolate was Amazing and I will order both her book and some chocolates!!! Remember us when you organize a spring foraging group!! Don't want to forget the wonderful people we met also!!!!

Thank you everyone for coming out! I hope you all enjoyed the tour as much as I did! I wasn't expecting to get so much information, but I loved it! I'm truly excited for Spring foraging now :) Guess we will have to create another Meet Up event for spring foraging and also to share some wild foods! Just a reminder, all the info shared tonight plus lots lots more, can be found in Anya's ebook - only $7.99!!!! It can be found here:

If you go to the introduction page for this meetup, and fiddle around, you can find the subway directions (sorry, I don't remember, but I know I found out right away). That is what is cool about this farm meetup - you can get there without begging a ride, and you can get there on your own steam.
