The Ten Mile River Greenway was built in 2004 to connect Slater Park in Pawtucket to the Kimberly Ann Rock Athletic Fields in East Providence at a distance of 2.5 miles. It is one of the few bike paths in Rhode Island that was not built along a former rail corridor. This means the path follows the natural contour of the land and provides a very scenic ride or walk along rolling terrain on the banks of the James Turner Reservoir.
We will meet @ Kimberly Rock field parking lot. The meet up is located behind the Wolf school @ 215 Ferris Ave. East Providence. This is a very scenic area, woods and waterviews abound.
This will be an out and back hike all on the Greenway. Once we arrive @ Slater park if you want we can walk through the park to add to our total distance. As always bring plenty of water and snacks. Make sure you bring a headlamp or flashlight just in case we run late. I believe it is supposed to be a nice day and fairly warm compared to what we have had lately. Sorry for the last minute, I had a meeting tomorrow PM that was cancelled.
