Event Rating: Level 2, first half has elevation, second half mostly flat, some good elevation on way to Lookout Rock.
Miles: Approx 3.5-6 miles total, allow a total of 3 hours for these activities. There will be a chance to opt out after we go to Lookout Rock and back (approx 3.5 miles total). Those that decide to stay on will complete the journey south along the canal to Stanley Woolen Mill. Ground on this part is flat, with a great view of the canal and hopefully foliage. We can stop briefly at the Visitor's Center. If you sign up please be prepared to bring water, bug spray, and dress appropriately.
Come explore the Blackstone River Canal and Heritage state park located in Whitinsville and Uxbridge, MA. We will begin at Goat Hill parking lot, where we will continue to head up King Phillip Path to Lookout Rock on Wolf Hill. Hiking boots/sturdy hiking shoes would be appropriate for this activity. Must bring sufficient water for the hike, appropriate clothing (no jeans or cotton!) and bug spray.
Directions: Get on Rte 146 to Rte 16 East (exit 3), in Uxbridge. Continue 1 mile to Rt 122, and take a left on 122. Go about 1 mile north to Hartford Ave East, and take a right at the intersection. Continue on Hartford Ave for approx 1.5 miles, grassy parking lot will be on your left at the bottom of the hill. Pay attention as it comes up quick! Call me with any issues at[masked]
