Event Rating: Intermediate, must have had previous kayak experience.
PFD (life vest)- REQUIRED. No exceptions, for your own safety.
We will be carspotting! The locations are not far from each other.
Water- REQUIRED, at least a liter, better to have more. You will need to keep yourself hydrated.
Bug Spray- REQUIRED, the bugs will be out :)
Hats- RECOMMENDED, the ultraviolet rays will be beating down on you.
Miles: Approx 7-9 miles total, allow a total of 3-4 hours for the kayaking. If you sign up please be prepared to bring water, a snack, sunscreen, and dress appropriately for the weather.
Come explore the Blackstone River Canal and Heritage state park located in Whitinsville and Uxbridge, MA. We will begin at the Medical center parking lot on Hartford Ave. We will unload our kayaks, and some will then drive a mere 15 minutes down to the Blackstone Gorge and leave some cars behind. We will then return to the medical center parking lot (carpooling). We will put our kayaks in the water at the preserved part of the canal, then kayak south to Stanley Woolen Mill. We will then portage to the Blackstone River, then kayak south to the Blackstone Gorge in Blackstone MA. Some of us will then return to the park in Whitinsville and claim our vehicles.

Directions: Get on Rte 146 to Rte 16 East (exit 3), in Uxbridge. Continue 1 mile to Rt 122, and take a left on 122. Go about 1.5 miles north to Hartford Ave East and take a right at the intersection. Continue for 1-1.5 miles to the medical center parking lot (entrance off Oak Street) on the right, across from the Goat Hill parking area. Call me with any issues at[masked]
