CrowdFlower & Ridejoy: Crowdsourcing Work and Consuming Collaboratively Meetup

It's been too long since our last meetup and we're excited to kick it off again with our friends at Ridejoy. Come join us on Tuesday, May 15 at CrowdFlower's offices to hear from a host of awesome speakers who will talk about the future of work and the cool stuff they are doing to impact crowdsourcing. We will provide food and drinks and you should bring questions and conversation for our speakers and other Meetup guests.

Here is the lineup for May's meetup:

Anthony Goldbloom, Founder and CEO of Kaggle. Kaggle is the the leading platform for predictive modeling competitions. Anthony will talk about how companies are harnessing the "cognitive surplus" of the world's best data scientists to create innovative solutions changing the world.

Jason Shen, Co-Founder of Ridejoy. Ridejoy is a community-driven marketplace for ridesharing. He and the Ridejoy team are really looking forward to meeting many of Ridejoy's awesome users!

Kanyi Maqubela, Entreprenuer in Residence at Collaborative Fund and philosophy student at Stanford University. Kanyi suffers from an "excess of passion" and is committed to the development of technology that changes conventional wisdom for the sake of the greater good.

Gregarious Narian, Co-Founder of Chute. Chute rescues your mobile photos and guarantees that they are all backed up, synced, and possibly shared with the people who want them most.

We are always looking for great speakers interested in presenting their latest projects, research, and findings. If you are interested, please email [masked].

Tuesday, May 15 6:00 p.m. Speakers start at 6:30 p.m.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. The individuals I've met were simply individuals I might not have met anywhere else in San Francisco.

great mix of speakers. very well organized. lots of information in a short amount of time.

only reason not 5 stars is that there was a contingent of people who started getting really noisy.

i think the best way is to have the host (lucas) kindly request that people who would like to continue networking do so "closer to the kitchen, so we don't disturb the speakers." that is, it was unfair to a few of the presenters (i'd argue the best of the bunch like Kanyi) who were totally drowned out by beer-induced chit-chat. (totally expected, totally to-be-embraced but can be redirected to an area where they won't disrupt the speakers.)
