Speaker: Tuyet Duong, VCU
Location: 401 W Main St, Richmond, VA (4th floor, Trani Room)
Time: 6:00 -- 7:30pm, Wednesday , Nov 30, 2016
Come and join us for our biweekly meetup on Bitcoin and Blockchain technology!
This will be an open meeting. Tuyet Duong will report her recent result ``TwinsChain''. This is the first practical open blockchain that can be proven secure against very strong attacker where the attacker is allowed to control the majority of computing power in the system. Note that, the well known Bitcoin becomes insecure when the attacker controls more than 50% computing power. This is also the first scalable open blockchain using proof-of-stake (and proof-of-work) mechanism with provable security. All existing proof-of-stake related open blockchains are either not provably secure, or not scalable.
