What we're about

I am a person who has struggled with weight my entire adult life. I have joined numerous weight loss groups in the past year and then have become disenfranchised with the various groups already existing, as 99% of the time they tend to want to sell products or charge for meet-ups or competitions, more than promoting a healthier lifestyle. The reason why I want to join groups is mostly for a support group. I need accountability, encouragement, and advice. I don't need to be sold products that costs hundreds of dollars all promising some amazing health benefit that sounds way too good to be true. I have decided to start my own group because of the annoyances of the others. If you are like me and want to get serious about making long-lasting and simple lifestyle changes and/or to meet your fitness goals, then please feel free to join this group. I will not try to sell you anything. I will not try to recruit you to sell things. I will encourage you to try to get into a healthier lifestyle by making realistic changes to your diet, by promoting exercising (maybe even start a walking/running group), and most importantly, by offering support. All I ask is the same in return. So whether you need to lose 10 pounds, 100 pounds (or more), or just want to get in better physical shape, please feel free to join this meet-up. This will be a local Richmond group, as I haven't seen many Richmond meet-up groups, and want to be able to find people around me who are interested in figuring out how to live a healthier lifestyle. You can feel free to join if you live in surrounding areas, just so long as you are aware most, if not all, of our meet-ups will occur in Richmond. Mell

Supportive Healing Circle for Holistic Emotional Health

Johnson's living room

Our emotions have both the innerly felt experiences, and the outwardly expressed behaviors. And what they mean to each of us are interpreted through the respective cultural beliefs we've learned and practiced throughout our life. This complex interdependent nature of our social environment can and will have impacts on our wellness, whether we ourselves are consciously aware of this process or not. It's my intention to support each of us to gain better awareness of our own emotions, while work on mastering the communication skills for a better relationship. And I need all of your help by being present and embodying this shared human existence. Hopefully, this will progress ourselves onto a lifelong commitment of emotional maturation, not just emotional repression masquerading as intelligence. Keep in mind that this is a sacred space, intended for practicing holistic emotional healing works, through communication for clarity, guidance, support and resolution. This means that all of our emotional expressions and experiences are to be validated, acknowledged, and accepted. Not just the surface emotions that we interpreted as "good" aka positive, but also our often misjudged "negative" emotions that's our shadows, chief among them being our anger.
