The first part of this presentation will cover a high-level review of blockchain basics, including what consensus means and how smart contracts work. The second part will be an introduction to Hyperledger Fabric and how its consensus models can be leveraged within the confines of a federated group in a private setting. A demo of Hyperledger Fabric and its Java SDK will follow.

Ben has been in software development since 2007, beginning in the ERP space as a Peoplesoft Consultant. He’s developed and maintained numerous enterprise-level applications for Fortune 500 companies. He’s been Java certified since the 1.5 platform but only officially transitioned into the Java ecosystem in 2016. Ben has been a blockchain advocate and enthusiast since 2012 and has done some freelance work in the Bitcoin space. Ben is currently participating in organizing the upcoming Block 9 Conference later this year.
