Fellow Richmond New Tech members, this month we are delighted to host....
Makerspaces: Tech Communities for the 21st Century
Join us for a fun talk on a growing tech community: the makerspace. A makerspace is a shared community space in which people with shared interests in computing, technology, and building using tools such as 3D Printers, laser cutters, and CNC equipment. Complementary to the MeetUp movement, makers gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge. These groups often share the best of public-private partnerships. We’ll cover aspects of both public and private orgs and an invitation to visit Richmond MakerLabs and London Hackspace.
Ryan Sayre is our speaker this month:
Ryan is a seasoned global CTO covering future technology for large multi-national technology companies. His background includes supercomputing, media & entertainment, and semiconductor technology sectors. In his free time, he is member and infrastructure volunteer for Richmond MakerLabs and London Hackspace and also an amateur radio enthusiast using the callsigns M0RYS and N0RYS.
See you all then
