Hi everyone,

It’s time for Zest Fest – FeedMore’s signature black-tie fundraiser on Saturday, February 22, 2014! As always volunteers have played a tremendous role in the success of the event and I need your help again this year. Should you be interested and available this year, please refer to the attached registration form and fill out the details so I have your information on file for the event.

Youth 14-15 can assist with event set up from 12:30-4pm but must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers are required to be 21 years and older to assist during the event.

Assignments fill fast and slots are first come first serve. Deadline to receive the registration forms is January 31. Thank you so much for your consideration.

On Saturday, February 22, 2014 Zest Fest returns as the premier fundraising event of FeedMore.

With 500 guests in attendance at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, Zest Fest continues to generate enthusiasm and much-needed funds to feed the hungry in Central Virginia.

The fundraiser celebrates the joys of superb food and wine. 20 renowned chefs from Central Virginia donate their time and talent to prepare delectable dinner courses complemented by an exquisite selection of fine Virginia wines from 8 wineries and 4 Virginia craft breweries.

But palate-pleasing isn’t the only activity to savor at Zest Fest. There’s also a basket raffle, an

exciting live auction featuring a variety of unique items, followed by lively music with dancing.

If you would like to bid on something in the auction, please go to registration after 7:00pm to get a bid #.

Dear friends,

It’s that time of the year and the 2014 Zest Fest is around the corner!

Zest Fest is FeedMore’s signature fundraiser and will be held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, downtown Richmond.

Volunteers are needed to help set up, and staff a variety of assignments at the event. You generously donated your time and enthusiasm in past years and we hope you will continue to support us in 2014. Last year’s Zest Fest was our most profitable gala to date. And this year we hope to match or exceed that goal, raising funds for more than a million meals. It’s an ambitious and awesome goal and we need your support!

The schedule below lists the date and times we need help on Saturday, Feb. 22nd, 2014. . Please review the information, fill out the details required and send it to me no later than January 31, 2014. You may email/ mail/ fax or drop it off with our receptionist at FeedMore’s Front Desk at 1415 Rhoadmiller Street. On receipt of your registration form, you will receive a confirmation in the mail or via email.

(Positions and shifts) - Set up (9:30am-Noon and 12:30pm-4:00pm)

Registration runners (5:00-8:00pm)

Floaters (4:30pm-8:30pm and 8:00pm-10:30pm)

Chef Assistants (5:00pm-9:30pm)

Dinner Assistants (6:00pm-9:30pm)

Coat check (5:00pm-8:00pm and 9:30pm-11:00pm)

Bead & Raffle sellers (5:00pm-8:30pm)

Auction Assistants (5:00pm-10:00pm)


Job Descriptions

Set Up:

Ø Help staff set up for dinner. Set up tables, chef stations and wine stations. Some amount of heavy lifting/ bending is involved.

Registration runners:

Ø Help with registration and check in queries


Ø Help staff with tasks as needed, provide breaks to other volunteers.

Chef Assistants:

Ø Help chefs with tasks as needed. Set up stations and fill chafing dishes.

Dinner Assistants:

Ø Light candles, help guests find seats and assist with other tasks as needed.

Coat Check:

Ø Take and hang coats in exchange for tickets and return items at the end of the event.

Bead & Raffle sellers:

Ø Sell raffles and beads for the auction.

Auction Assistants:

Ø Assist with auction and basket raffles. Explain processes to guest

Volunteers assisting with Zest Fest will be provided with free parking in the GRCC parking deck.
