Introduction

I like to read, and I would like to meet new people.

What Diane B is saying about this Meetup Group

Our group always gives me new insight into the book. After the meeting I was reviewing the last chapter and when I got to the end, I decided to read the author interview. Someone had mentioned being surprised about the chapter where the author refers to Bitsy as Jin Ho's mother and Brad and Jin Ho's father. The author actually answered that question in the interview. "I’ve been surprised, incidentally, by the number of readers who have asked why that chapter refers to “Jin-Ho’s mom” and “Jin-Ho’s dad” instead of “Bitsy” and “Brad,” as they’re called throughout the rest of the book. To me that seems obvious: most children don’t think of their parents by their first names. Certainly Jin-Ho doesn’t, and she’s the one whose head we’re inside" I'm sorry I hadn't read the interview before book club. She made another of other observations about book.
