I fell in love with the Dances of Universal Peace many years ago and I am also really into Mary Magdalene, so it I am really happy to forward this wonderful opportunity on August 28th at the Unity Meeting space in Fredericksburg.

Our August 28 meeting will be held in honor of the Holy Bride, featuring original dances choreographed by Amina Linda McMakin. A gifted teacher in the Dances of Universal Peace, Amina Linda will be leading us in the beautiful, inspiring dances she originally choreographed in honor of Mary Magdalene. We will hold the dance workshop at Unity but move to Darlene Rollins' Earthwalk Retreat Center for a fire ceremony. We will also be holding a potluck dinner either at Unity or at the Earthwalk retreat. Everyone is invited although there may be a participation limit due to space. None of the events (dance, potluck, fire ceremony) will be limited to Agape Circle members so let your friends know.

1-4 p.m. Dance Workshop
5-7 p.m. Potluck at Unity
8-10 p.m. Fire Ceremony
at Earthwalk Retreat Center

The Mary Magdalene Dances are a cycle of dances that capture teachings and stories from the life of Miriam of Magdala. They are composed in the tradition of the Dances of Universal Peace?simple circle dances using sacred phrases and holy names from the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. No previous experience is needed; each dance is taught as we go along.

There will be a small fee for this event to help pay for the spaces and facilitators. Those who sign up in advance and pay online through PayPal or by check via mail will only be asked to pay $30. Those who pay on the day of the event will be asked to pay $40. You may pay the $30 through PayPal after you RSVP here.

You may also mail a check to Agape Circle, c/o BJ Wood, 503 Walker Street, Radford, Va, 24141. Please make your checks to Agape Circle. The money will be refunded if the event is cancelled or rescheduled. Please make sure checks are mailed at least 2 weeks before the event.
