• Motorcycle First Responder Class
HI, My name is Jacqueline Clarke and I am a member of several motorcycle meet ups. I have organized a class that I think your members might be interested in. We will need a minimum of 15 participants, so I am reaching out to the brooder motorcycle community and everyone I know to make this class happen. Please contact your friends for this potentially life saving training. ASM = Accident Scene Management. Motorcycle First Response Training = help a downed rider prior to the arrival of professional medical persons Training org: www.roadguardians.org Must be paid/registered at: https://www.eiseverywhere.com/ehome/index.php?eventid=218342&;; It will be held Saturday 1/21 in Houston, near Rice Village and the Houston Zoo from 9 am to 5 pm. It is $75 per person. Only classroom instructions. No need to bring your motorcycle. Address: City of Southside Place 6309 Edloe Avenue Houston, TX 77005 It is in every motorcyclist best interest to take this training, since you might need to assist a friend or loved one someday. We all know to call 911 but sometimes the first moments of an incident can be critical, and heaven forbid we have no cell coverage or extended response time. Please feel free to contact me with any questions: Jacqueline Clarke[masked]

  • Sam's Jam VII- Police escorted ride to West of the Brazos!
Sam's Jam VII is the signature motorcycle ride produced by MD Anderson's official employee motorcycle group, Riders For the Cure. Our rides raise thousands of dollars for cancer research at MD Anderson and we have almost zero administrative expenses. We are not professional fundraisers, but employees from all parts of the institution who love what we do and feel that it's important to make as much progress as we can in the fight against cancer. This year's event will fund a research study that focuses on quality of life for patients with brain tumors. The goal of the study is to learn what genetic factors contribute to radiation sensitivity and how these can be better understood to help improve the quality of life for patients undergoing radiation therapy.

We are not professional fundraisers, but employees from all parts of the institution who love what we do and feel that it's important to make as much progress as we can in the fight against cancer. This year's event continues funding of a research study that focuses on pediatric brain tumors. The goal of the study is to determine how much radiation can safely be administered to pediatric patients for whom a cure has not yet been discovered. We invite you to join us in this most noble mission by coming out and riding with us! More details will be coming soon!

We are hosting a fundraiser on Sunday October 7th which will include a poker tournament, CASH PRIZES, 50/50, silent auction, food, fun, bikes and great friends. We support many local charities including the Family Violence Center at Northwest Assistance Ministries and the American Heart Association. The hope for a better life and the courage to take the first step must come from within, but NAM's Family Violence Center (FVC) provides the resources to help clients find safe places, and offers support and the services to begin again on new paths. The FVC offers a 24-hour hotline, bilingual outreach, telephone crisis counseling, emergency shelter, emergency food, clothing, transportation, medical assistance, professional counseling services for battered women and their children, information and referrals for batterers, on-site law enforcement, legal referrals and court accompaniment.
