We are excited to welcome you to the first of our FinTech Friday series at Rise London. This monthly program welcomes all FinTech start-ups to receive feedback from our mentors. Our guest mentors include individuals from around the FinTech community and have expertise in marketing, legal, business development and other fields to accelerate your startup's growth.

This month's mentors will include:

Tariq Khan, Co-Founder, Outrun Ventures

Tariq Khan is a qualified lawyer, angel investor, startup board member and co-founding partner of his most recent company Outrun Ventures. Tariq specialises in the Financial services and looks for companies that are building next-generation technology that also drive positive social impact. Tariq helps with mentoring on the Fintech Techstars accelerator programme each year and does advisory work for various Fintech and RegTechs across Europe.

Andy Storey, Vice President - Chief Security Office, Barclays

Andy served for 18 years in the Royal Navy, a military career that took him all over the World from the North Pole in a nuclear submarine to Antarctica in an Ice Breaker. He led the introduction to service of revolutionary digital navigation technology and was the first international officer to be appointed to a senior faculty leadership position at the prestigious U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.
Graduating from Harvard Business School before starting a second career in financial services, he has a wide range of general management, strategy, operations, innovation and technology credentials. Andy regularly lectures on topics such as building and leading high performing teams, critical decision making and managing risk.
He actively coaches and mentors startups across a range of sectors including through the Barclays Techstars Accelerator programme based at Rise in London.

Nim Haas, Marketing Expert

Nim has worked within the digital and tech space since 1997. Her expertise and her contribution to the industry has gained her to be recognised by the Holmes Report as one of the Top 25 Innovators for EMEA for marketing and communication professionals and as Standout 35 in Innovate Finance ‘Women in Fintech’ Powerlist. She has led the global marketing for Global Processing Services (GPS), the issuer processor powering the payment technology behind FinTechs such as Revolut, Starling Bank, Xinja, Pleo and Soldo. Prior to this she also worked in Tech PR and communication agencies managing PR, comms and brand reputation for fintech companies such as Fidor, Backbase, Covercy, Open Ocean, Cytora and Kurtosys and this across the UK and internationally. Most recently, she has been providing consultancy in branding, communication and marketing for companies in Fintech, Paytech and Regtech.

Gerwyn Jenkins, Director - Group Innovation Office, Barclays

Gerwyn Jenkins is a technologist with over 20 years' experience delivering digital transformations and innovation at several High Street Brands across retail and Financial Services. Gerwyn leads the Barclays UK Retail Innovation team and is passionate about finding technology to transform Financial Services and developing customer experiences that disrupt current business models. Gerwyn also mentors the Barclays accelerator programme in association with Techstars.
