How To Beat Fear And Thrive As A Writer
Being a writer is a roller-coaster experience. You can feel isolated and you have to cope with rejection. You have bad days and you might be full of self-doubt. This special, full-day workshop is for people who are already writers, whether or not you've been published. You might have a novel out for submission, or you might have ground to a halt having had previous novels published. During this workshop you will find out how to keep going as you experience difficulty. You will learn how to bolster your confidence and cope better with rejection. And the skills you learn will be useful in everyday life too. ​This workshop is led by Jan Stannard, a highly trained resilience specialist and writer, with support from author Susanna Beard. The cost is ​​£99 including tea, coffee, cold drinks and cake and MUST be booked on our website, The day will include: ​- dealing with writer's block and the blank page ​- overcoming self-doubt ​- turning down the volume on negative self-talk ​- reducing prevarication ​- finding your writing confidence again ​- dealing with rejection by agents and publishers ​- finding support from other writers ​- the benefits of writing groups Marlow has lots of cafes and pubs to visit during the workshop lunch break.

    What we're about

    River Writing runs small one-day, £99 workshops in Marlow for writers. The founders are Susanna Beard, published author and graduate of the Faber Academy, and Jan Stannard, writer and expert in positive psychology and resilience.
