Hey everyone! I just stepped in as organizer and would love to get something in the books. I am interested in Keto as a way to transform my metabolic health and physique. I love talking about it but I can see the eyes of my friends and family glazing over as I do... so...excited to be around people who are interested and motivated and happy to help support others and trade research. This group is for people currently doing or strongly interested in pursuing the keto diet/lifestyle. Our focus is on both "how to" do the diet and also the personal experience of it. We are interested in keto not primarily as a weight loss or performance-enhancing method (though if those are some of your goals, that's fine), but also in the way that keto can support our holistic personal growth. Mindfulness practices for getting in touch with the body and deeply listening to how we can nourish it are encouraged. Meetups will focus on supporting each other in our journey with keto through discussing practical aspects of the diet, sharing recipes and perhaps meals, and learning body awareness tools. Group organizer is a certified mindfulness teacher who came to doing keto after my practice of intuitive eating made clear the negative effects of carbohydrates on my body and mind. If you are not open to exploring body awareness and eating for deep nourishment, rather than short term weight loss or fitness goals, this group is probably not a good fit for you!
