Rochester Motherless Daughters Meetup is for any woman who has lost her mother and knows the unique pain and challenges of that tremendous loss. I lost my own mother when I was 40 years old (At the time of this writing, it was six years ago), and it was a sudden death that came without any warning. She died of a massive brain hemorrhage and none of us were able to even say goodbye to her. She was my very best friend in life, not just my Mother.
In talking with other "Motherless daughters," I have come to realize that it doesn't matter if the loss came 6 years ago or 60 years ago. If the death was sudden or it lingered... We all have been affected in a way that nothing else can compare. There is no grief that cuts like losing our Mom. It binds us together in a unique way.
If we can offer some support to one another, whether it be sharing a cup of coffee or a word of encouragement, then I hope we can accomplish that together.
