I miss climbing... Hope you guys can join me. I also posted this on the Southern California Camping & Hiking Cooperative.

The friends of Joshua Tree Organization is having their “Climb Smart 2012” weekend. For $59.00 you can join the festivities as they kick off the climbing season with three full days of clinics, special guest athletes of yore, climbing education, Park service projects, multimedia presentations, special Friday night entertainment, party, and food; and the always superb Saturday night dinner, raffle, silent auction, and party. All three days at the JT Lake Campground... all for one ridiculously LOW donation amount (that is tax-deductible, btw). (Tent and RV camping are additional charges....see below).

In a nutshell the fees are:
$59.00 for the entire weekend’s worth of festivities
$7.50 a night per person for tent camping (Thurs/Fri/Sat)

Here are some of the highlights from their website:
Camping available starting Thursday night, so come early and be ready for all of Friday's clinics. Make your camping reservations below, either tent or RV.

Check in frequently at to keep track of the growing list of activities, sponsored events and special guests.

NEW LOWER PRICE and FRIDAY ALL DAY added to max out the fun and value! We want this year's Climb Smart to be accessible to everyone. And, this year the Lake is open for fishing, so bring your fishing poles or rent them at the country store next to the Lake. ($3.75 per person at the store).

This year there will be 8 clinic periods:
• #1: Friday, 9am-11am.
• #2: Friday, 11:30am-1:30pm.
• #3: Friday, 2pm-4pm.
• #4: Saturday, 9am-11am.
• #5: Saturday, 11:30am-1:30pm.
• #6: Saturday, 2pm-4pm.
• #7: Sunday, 9am-11am.
• #8: Sunday, 11:30am-1:30pm.

After you have registered , please choose the clinics that you would like to attend for each of these Periods in the "Questionnaire" section below.

You'll get a separate e-mail notification with a complete week-end schedule of clinics after you've submitted your registration.

SORRY, No cell phones or laptop usage on ANY of my trips EXCEPT for emergencies or using the outdoor apps (i.e. stars, gps, etc.). If you must bring them, keep them turned off UNLESS SHOWING OR USING THE APPS! We are out there to get away from the chaos, not to bring it with us! Texting and calls can wait.

If you have questions, feel free to email me: [masked].

Thanks - Andrea

It was an outstanding trip. Unfortunately I didn't run into anyone from the meetup, but I still met allot of great climbers, some of which were from San Diego.
