The Utah Desert. But Locally, Stoney Run and Mineral Hill.
I'd consider myself as having "some Expericence", I can usually tell the difference of a Jasper from an agate. I can identify some of the properties of corundum, beryl, quartz, etc. I've still got a lot to learn (and I love experimenting with rocks).
Exchanging rocks sounds great. I've been cutting, cabbing and faceting now and would like to exchange my excess for new. I do love field trips.
About 8 years now.
I am an active 60 something. Loved rocks as a kid but lost interest when my interest turned to the softer fairer sex. My interest re-emerged during a ski trip to Sun Valley Idaho in 2003 when I visited a local Rock Shop and got "Rock" fever!
If you are interested in Rocks, Stones and Minerals, everyone here has the same interest and are very friendly. Open to Spouses, friends and kids as well. Do not be shy. We all started somewhere.
