  • Rock Slam 2019 Finals

    Casa Del Sol

Hey! We're doing something weird tonight (September 7th). At Casa del Sol in Nyack, NY, we're having our 2019 slam finals. We're not picking a slam team this year; instead, at tonight's slam, we'll pick our top 2 poets and give them some good supports -- like help with editing their poetry, workshopping their performance, publishing their work, and getting them gigs at other venues. Competing poets include Kelly Gallagher, Ari Spence, Nick Yuk, Greg Bassell, James McCallum, Nikki Zaidan, Catherine Moscatt, Vee Fray, and Maynard Keller. They were invited because they've placed in the top 3 in one or more of our slams in the past year. There will *not* be an open mic at tonight's slam. As per usual, doors are opening at 6:30 PM. Poetry'll start at 7. $5 at the door. Parking is free from 6 PM - 11 PM at the muni lot across the street from the venue. It should be a great show, and you can have a hand in determining which poets represent our scene in the wider world. Fiefie will be hosting.
