CoderDojo - Intro to Hacking Competitions and Programming Presentations
Details
Interested in hacking and computer security? Join us for an introduction to competitive hacking competitions for middle school and high school students.
Following the presentation, we'll have a projects meeting where attendees can work on projects of their choosing or choose to try out some of the hacking competition problems. Everyone will have a chance to demo their projects at the end of the meeting if they want.
If you have a laptop, please bring it to the meeting. If not, we have computers that you can use. We recommend that first time attendees show up a few minutes early so that mentors can help get you setup.
Important: Ages 7 to 17 are welcome, but children 12 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult for the entire meeting. Bringing a friend or two is fine, but please, no large groups.
Parking: If you're not familiar with Rockville Town Square, please familiarize yourself with the parking options at http://rockvilleparking.com/. The library validates parking for 2 hours if you use the city lots. Since our meetings are slightly longer than 2 hours, you'll have to pay a couple dollars. Another option is to use street parking or the 11 N Washington St lot which are both free.
Metro: If you are coming by metro, exit the station to the left and take the pedestrian bridge over Rockville Pike. Walk straight for block after the bridge and make a right to get to town square.
